5 Tips to Avoid Failure With Your Blog

5 reasons blogs fail

1. Unclear Objectives
You might have a lot of good reasons to start blogging for your business. You might be blogging for brand awareness, PR, or just educating your customers. When you start blogging, you need to have clear objectives. They need to be defined and written down and agreed upon by management within the business.

2. Poor Quality Content
Poor content can cause your blog to fail because your customers won’t want to read it. When you have quality content, your readers will gain trust in  you and continue reading.

If you go back to  your defined objectives, you can create a calendar of when a topic should be published, and also have a list of topics that you are going to talk about.

3. Failure to Publish Regularly
The next thing worse than poor content is the failure to publish on a regular basis. Depending on your subject, you should post from daily to a minimum of twice per month. Anything less and you risk failure of people not reading your blog.

4. Unrealistic Expectations
Some people think that blogs are easy work and that they will gain hundreds of subscribers. This is not the case. Blogs are hard work to keep up. Not everyone can blog. When you are blogging for a business, you need to keep to your objectives and have set people blog on specific dates. Using your calendar set in  your objectives will solve this problem.

Keeping with your objective and calendar, you will put out the quality content and will slowly gain subscribers.

5. No Feedback Mechanisms
If you don’t allow for people to comment, you are setting  yourself up for failure . Are you afraid of what some people might say? Comments are the lively hood of blogs and can turn what used to be a one-way communication channel, into a two-way communication channel. Comments allow you to comment back to your customers and engage them in conversation.
